Available Treatments

Hand Massage

Registered Massage Therapy

Massage therapy refers to a comprehensive health management strategy focusing on the application of various techniques to positively affect the soft tissues and joints of the body. Today massage is thought of as a holistic therapy that complements medical treatment. The "Physician's Guide to Therapeutic Massage" shows that massage can decrease pain, improve range of motion, improve mood, aid in the circulation of blood and lymph flow, reduce muscle and joint soreness, and improve sleep.

Acupuncture close up

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is often used as part of naturopathic treatment plans. Many conventional medical treatments focus on looking for a specific disease that has a precise cause. Naturopathic doctors use acupuncture in a different way. The acupuncturist looks for patterns of disharmony in a person, both physiological and psychological. Rather than focusing on disease, acupuncture focuses on restoring harmony to the whole person.

Relaxing Massage

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

A health professional with appropriate training performs this painless, relaxing, and rhythmic, whole-body, or specific focus massage called Manual Lymphatic Drainage. The entire procedure promotes proper "mechanics" of the Lymphatic System allowing it to move excessive fluids that are typically picked up, filtered and removed by the Lymphatic System on its own. The movement of Lymph through Nodes filters the fluid that surrounds our connective tissues removing impurities such as bacteria, dust and damaged blood cells which are visible through hematomas (bruising). When this system is working well ones immune system is optimal, sometimes the system can be strained for various reasons causing an excessive amount of fluid to accumulate and bruising to be visible for longer periods of time. This prolonged swelling can be harmful to the bodies tissues if left un addressed. This is where MLD can be beneficial.
